An Overview
Located in the heart of the South West of England, just two hours by train from London Paddington, King’s College is a co-educational boarding and day school for around 490 pupils. Inspired teaching, superb facilities and our Christian ethos combine to create an environment in which young people achieve great things.
Founded in 1880, King’s College has an excellent academic record. We offer a broad curriculum covering the full range of academic and creative subjects. Science, maths and an award winning design technology department are amongst our strengths. Thriving art, music and drama departments offer opportunities for creative skill development.
Why Choose Us?
Both schools are exceptionally happy, thriving boarding and day schools situated in the county town of Taunton, the heart of Somerset. The town boasts good independent shopping and restaurants, as well as a theatre, museum, and cinema and is the home of Somerset County Cricket, a popular destination in the summer months for T20 evening cricket matches.
The river Tone runs through the centre, where pupils have access to learn kayaking and rowing. Some of our senior pupils often use the river to practice for their Duke of Edinburgh canoe expeditions. The town has many beautiful historic buildings, a wonderful park that hosts summer music concerts, and all this is just five minutes drive from a number of Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
The power of nature cannot be underestimated and our pupils have ample access to get outside into the fresh air, away from the hustle and bustle of the urban environment.
