Pastoral Care
As a Woodard School, pastoral care is at the heart of everything we do here at King’s, and our ISI Inspections consistently award us the highest accolades possible for our level of pastoral care.
We are committed to ensuring that every one of our pupils is known and valued as an individual and that the structures of support are close and effective. As a result, each pupil has a tutor who will support them in their whole school life, not just their academic studies.
Tutors are experienced at putting together individual plans to ensure each pupil is happy and thriving as well as achieving.
Support and Guidance
Pastoral care is a responsibility of all staff. In a addition, we have a number of dedicated pastoral staff for pupils and indeed parents. These include:
- One of our three Deputy Heads is specifically responsible for all elements of pastoral care.
- A School Counsellor for pupils who want help working through any issues.
- Our School Chaplain who supports our pupils in their spirituality and is available for advice and counselling for those who want it.
- Houseparents and their deputies have regular pastoral and safeguarding training and are on hand to keep a close eye on the social and personal development of all children and young people in their care.
