We are delighted to announce the appointment of Heidi Berry as our new Head at King’s College Prep, commencing her tenure in September 2025.
Heidi will bring with her over 14 years of leadership experience, complemented by a master’s degree, an MBA in senior leadership, and extensive expertise as a current school inspector. Currently serving as Headteacher at Sherborne Preparatory School in Qatar, Heidi’s wealth of experience and genuine passion for education make her an exceptional choice for this role.
Heidi was educated in Jersey, where her love for music blossomed, particularly in violin and baroque music. She pursued her passion at Birmingham Conservatoire before completing her PGCE at Nottingham Trent University. Her teaching career began in the Midlands, where she laid the foundation for her distinguished career in education.
Heidi relocated to Dorset with her family and joined Sherborne Preparatory School in 2007, where her career flourished. In 2010, she was appointed Head of Pre-Prep, playing a pivotal role in driving change and embedding the school’s vision and mission across the wider Sherborne Schools Group. In 2022, she took on the role of Deputy Head at Sherborne Preparatory School, Qatar, before being promoted to Headteacher in 2023. During her time in Qatar, Heidi inspired staff and pupils alike, maintained strategic oversight of the school’s development, and even learned some Arabic, further enriching her international educational perspective.
Outside of her professional achievements, Heidi is married to Nick, a GP and enthusiastic triathlete. Together, they have three grown-up sons, Jordan, Daniel, and Sam. Heidi remains an active musician, frequently singing and performing in ensembles across the South-West.
Heidi’s extensive and diverse background, coupled with her unwavering commitment to education, positions her perfectly to lead King’s College Prep into an exciting future.
