During the summer, Year 9 pupil Emily M was crowned U15 European Triathle Champion along with winning Team Gold for GB in Greece. Her race was absolutely amazing as she was nearly last out of the first shoot phase, but after her run she came back strong and gained fourth. In the second shoot she was in first place then stormed the swim and the next run, before the final shoot where she gained a perfect score.
Following the European championship, Emily and her cousin Josh C who is also a pupil at King's, were selected for Team GB and joined over 650 athletes from 31 countries to contest the 2022 World Biathle and Triathle Championships in Machico, Madeira in October.
Just to keep it in the family, Josh C's brother and former King's pupil Sam C also competed for Great Britain and came away World Champion!
They were incredibly busy in what were very competitive races falling on three consecutive days, and all produced some amazing results:
- Triathle Mixed Relay - Emily (11th), Josh (10th), Sam (3rd)
- Triathle Individual - Emily (12th), Josh (16th), Sam (3rd)
- Biathle Individual - Emily (11th), Josh (18th), Sam (7th)
- Biathle Mixed Relay - Sam (1st) - World Champion
