King’s College Taunton Celebrates Former Student Fin Hill’s Professional Cricket Contract

We are thrilled to announce that Fin Hill, a recent A-Level graduate of King’s College Taunton, has signed his first professional contract with Somerset County Cricket Club (SCCC). This exciting milestone marks the beginning of a promising career for the talented 18-year-old, who has been a standout player since his early days at Exeter Cricket Club.

Fin’s journey to professional cricket began at Exeter Cricket Club, where he made his First XI debut at just 15 years old. His exceptional skills and dedication quickly caught the attention of Somerset Academy, which he joined in September 2021. Since then, Fin has made significant strides, debuting for Somerset’s Second XI in 2022 and making his First XI debut in the Metro Bank One Day Cup against Durham last year.

Fin’s hard work and determination have paid off, culminating in a professional contract that will run until the end of the 2026 season. Reflecting on this achievement, Fin expressed his gratitude to those who have supported him along the way, including Matt Drakeley, SCCC Head of Talent Pathway, and Rob Woodman, Head of Cricket at King’s College. He also acknowledged the unwavering support of his family, particularly his father and brother, who have been instrumental in his development.

Rob Woodman shared his pride in Fin’s accomplishments, stating, “We are very proud of Fin and all that he has achieved this year on the cricket pitch. To be rewarded with a contract is absolutely amazing. He has worked extremely hard and has been very disciplined in all aspects of life, balancing A-levels, cricket, and other sports.”

Headmaster Michael Sloan also expressed his delight, saying, “Fin is a fantastic young man, we are incredibly proud of him and we wish him every success at Somerset. He is the latest in a long line of former pupils who have come through King’s and gone on to attain a professional contract, so there will be lots of familiar faces in the dressing room!”

Fin’s journey is a testament to his dedication and passion for cricket. As he prepares to head to Australia this winter to further hone his skills, we at King’s College Taunton are confident that he will continue to excel and make us proud. We look forward to following his progress and celebrating his future successes.

Congratulations, Fin! Your King’s College family is cheering you on every step of the way.
