The Pelican's (King's College Prep)
The sole aim of The Pelican's is to provide a social element for parents, teachers and friends associated with King's College Prep. The intention is to run a series of small and large events each year, whereby people can get together in a sociable and friendly environment. It’s not a PTA, nor is it a charity. The events will be self-funding and if any surplus is created, it will be ploughed back into the events programme or into supporting the Enhancing King's Fund.
The Pelican's organising team consists of ‘Chief Pelican' Donald Rice, fellow parents Minky Luard and Becs Joslin, and Brenda Worth, Development Manager. Please don’t hesitate to be in touch with any of them if you would like to help pull together the events they plan in the year or if you have any ideas for events of your own. They’d love to hear from you.
King's College PFA
The Parents and Friends Association (PFA) exists to provide opportunities for current and former parents and friends of the school to meet each other socially and to support the work of the school. The PFA is led by a small committee who enjoy friendly meetings; we would love to encourage new parents to join our team. We try to meet when parents are visiting school and we appreciate new ideas, energy and enthusiasm.
The PFA runs one major social event each term as well as other smaller events, including our recent First Aid Training. PFA Committee members help at Open Mornings and run a second-hand uniform scheme. All parents are automatically part of the Parents and Friends Association and are welcome to stand as committee members and attend committee meetings.
