The subscription fund for a memorial to Old Aluredians who fell in the Great War was opened in 1916. The final memorial comprised a stone cross placed in the Chapel Quadrangle and a marble slab bearing the names of the fallen on the wall leading to the Chapel.

The 12-week basic skills course runs in the Cookery School. Two parallel classes run on Tuesday and Thursday evenings throughout the Michaelmas Term and Lent Terms if numbers demand.

The Cricket Centre houses an excellent indoor net training facility with three lanes, long run ups and four bowling machines, making it perfect for our winter training schedule. It is also used for our sports performance and conditioning programme as well as various sports and activities such as fencing, dance, aerobics and pilates.
King's has a fantastic 25m, five lane indoor pool which is 1.1m deep in the shallow end and 2.8m in the deep end. It facilitates our swimming and aquatics programme plus other activities such as water polo, scuba diving, kayaking, lifesaving and synchronized swimming.
These centrally positioned cabins provide a secure, comfortable changing facility for pupils and visiting teams to prepare for fixtures and freshen up after matches.
Various sports and activities take place in the Sports Hall including laser shooting, fencing and ball games. It also houses a climbing wall, PE classrooms and the Strength & Conditioning Suite that is designed to enhance all physiological and psychological aspects of our athletes, allowing for full realisation of their potential.
This is the home of GCSE and A-level biology, chemistry, physics and history. The sciences are taught through hands-on experience of the subjects in leading-edge, well-equipped laboratories, whilst history pupils enjoy lively discussions in modern classrooms.

The 250-seat theatre is fully equipped with a computer lighting desk, large inventory of lanterns, up-to-date sound systems and flexible staging. Also within the Theatre is a black box drama studio with dance floor, a dedicated teaching space, and extensive costume and prop stores.
The Music School houses practice and teaching rooms, a recording studio, a recital room equipped with a Yamaha C3 grand piano, and Mac suite of computers that allow access to the departmental sound library and various musical software packages.
