At King’s College, Taunton, we are incredibly proud of the academic achievements of our pupils. Our GCSE results over the past five years reflect a consistently high standard, with an average of 96.4% of grades at 9-4 and 52.4% at grades 9-7. This showcases the balance we strike between accessibility and top performance, enabling pupils of varying abilities to excel.
Our A-Level results demonstrate sustained success, with 71.2% of grades at A*-B across five years, and a remarkable 99.2% pass rate. This impressive academic record is a testament to the dedication and commitment of our staff and to the hard work and determination of our pupils.

Summary of 2024 Exam Results
There have been many huge successes across a range of areas during the summer, with pupils achieving some superb public examination results. At A-level, 54.2% of our pupils achieved A*-B grades, with an overall pass rate of 99.6%, reflecting a diverse range of abilities and a consistently high level of achievement over the past five years. Notably, many secured places at prestigious universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, and Imperial, with 86% accepted into their first-choice institution. At GCSE, 51% of pupils earned grades 9-7 (A*-A) and 96.5% at grades 9-4 (A*-C), maintaining a steady trend of excellent results. This year also saw scholarships awarded at prestigious overseas universities in the U.S., Canada, and Australia.
