Why Join the Multi-Sports Academy?
King's regularly hosts and organises a number of multi-sports events including a triathlon, biathlon and pentathlon.
The King’s Multi-Sports Academy is designed to offer top level coaching from former pentathlete Lydia Rivet, with numerous weekly sessions on offer each week. The training can be flexible, with pupils booking onto the sessions that they want to attend.
The club offers children and young adults in the area the opportunity to participate in the sport. Having competed in Modern Pentathlon from grass roots through to world class level, Lydia runs the club and has an in-depth understanding of the sport and training requirements for athletes at different levels.
We recognise and encourage children to take part in a variety of sports, so have built a programme that can work around other activities.
Pentathlon Hub
We have been accredited a Pentathlon Foundation Hub. What we aim to do:
- Address the popularity of the five Modern Pentathlon sports in our area through available training sessions.
- Make our sessions affordable so all individuals can access the sport.
- Help the growing interest of the sport in the southwest area to bring a new influx into the changed format of Modern Pentathlon.
- Give the athletes interested in the sport the knowledge needed to enjoy, learn, and develop their abilities within the sport to reach their goals.
- Make use of our incredible facilities to help support the needs for all training within Modern Pentathlon and the family of sports from Swimming, Laser Run, Fencing, and even Obstacle.
Unleash Your Potential
In addition to the training programme, Lydia offers private lessons at King’s College.
King's pupils of all ages have achieved huge success in Modern Pentathlon, with Sam and Josh Cobb from King’s College recently returning from the World Triathle Championships (continuous shoot-swim-run) with a wide array of medals. Another star is Nicholas DuToit from King’s Hall who was selected to represent Great Britain at a world level, and members from the community club have also competed at national and international level.
