COSTS

Charges are £2 per journey, per child for travel within a five-mile radius of the centre of Taunton.

£6 per journey, per child, for travel from 5 – miles miles.

£7 per journey, per child for travel over 15 miles.

TRAVEL FOR DAY PUPILS

Many of our Day Pupils travel to King’s from towns, villages and rural communities across the South West. Our school bus network serves a wide catchment area and continues to evolve in response to the needs of King’s families. Dedicated school transport routes offer a convenient way for pupils to travel each day, while Taunton’s location ensures straightforward access from communities across central and west Somerset. For families in Langport, Somerton, Ilminster and the wider South Somerset area, King’s offers a well-connected independent education option with dedicated transport services helping pupils travel comfortably into school each day. Pupils travel to King’s from Minehead, Watchet, Dunster and communities throughout West Somerset and Exmoor. King’s is easily accessible from London, Bristol, Exeter and other major cities via the national rail network. Taunton’s proximity to the M5 motorway also provides excellent road connections for families travelling from across the country. These transport links allow boarders to enjoy the very best of boarding school life while remaining well connected to family and friends throughout the year. 

Our experienced boarding teams are always available to support families with travel arrangements, helping to ensure pupils travel confidently and safely regardless of where they are based. 

King’s has a long tradition of welcoming pupils from around the world. International families benefit from access to major UK airports and transport hubs, as well as guidance from our Admissions and Boarding teams before, during and after travel.
